A Rare Pink Opaline Perfume Flask in Pomponne and Mother-of-Pearl Mount Baccarat, Napoleon III Period, France, circa 1850
An exceptional pink opaline glass perfume flask encased in a richly ornate “Pomponne” gilt metal mount, lavishly decorated with panels of mother-of-pearl. The floral and scrollwork motifs in gilded bronze complement the iridescence of the shell inlay, while the opaline flask itself is delicately formed and topped with a matching stopper. A luxurious and rare piece of 19th-century French vanity art, attributed to Baccarat.
